About South Yorkshire English Springer Spaniel Rescue

We are a small group of Springer enthusiasts who have worked in the Rescue area for a number of years. In 1998 we became a registered charity. Our aim being to care for and re-home ,where possible, any un-wanted, stray or neglected Springer Spaniels. To that end we now help around 250 dogs each year, some remaining with us long term and some on our fostering scheme.

Despite our title we cover a much larger geographical area and to help us  cover our  large region we would welcome help from any experienced persons to  do home-checks, collect dogs or to offer foster care to our  special needs dogs. So if you'd like to know more read on.

If you are reading this  from outside the Yorkshire region then please know that due to the  large number of Springer's coming into rescue, we consider homes from all areas. However, as in all re-homing's the process begins with that first phone call.

For details of our re-homing, fostering or supporter services please use the contacts given below. If telephoning a land line contact number would be appreciated.  These can be found on the SYESSR Website Click Here

    Buddy- (L/W, 5 years).

This little fella has had more homes than Lassie ! Buddy has had 5 or 6 previous homes and despite this he is a loving and friendly spaniel. He does need a secure home and garden as his recall is not very good. He is quite greedy when it comes to food, and whilst loving with children he will try and steal their food ! He is fine with dogs and bitches but obviously may compete over food. He is clean within the house and just seeks that final permanent home where he will be given the love and time he needs to adjust and get his paws under the table. A real good looking and bright boy.

George- (L/W, 3 years)

Son of Braken and again a entire male. He is bigger than his dad and very giddy and clumsy, but extremely affectionate and playful. As above he will need physical space indoors and out. A really gorgeous dog who would be ok with larger female dog and older children. He again needs lead training.

Braken- (L/W, 5 years)

Braken is a show type, entire male. He is a big lad and very strong on a lead. He has lived with a pregnant dog and two adult sons, so ok with other dogs. The is very giddy and loving. He will need lots of space (won't live on a sun terrace or small garden). He is said to be ok with children (but too big for under 10's). He is fully vaccinated and will need some lead training. He is lovely and simply needs someone with space and time to bring out his full character.
